I just returned from the annual meeting of the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine in San Antonio, Texas. It was really an international meeting with presenting dentists and physicians from around the globe. New ideas based in clinical research were shared in helping people who suffer from snoring and obstructive sleep apnea and are unable to tolerate the CPAP machines. Obstructive Sleep Apnea is a major problem in the population and can cause severe medical complications often times resulting in death. Fortunately, there is help available with oral appliance therapy which can be a “lifesaver.” Continuing education is a wonderful thing. It keeps us informed of new options to help our guests.
