When you visit our brand new dental spa, you will be greeted with a friendly smile, and invited to relax beside the fireplace with the beverage of your choice, either warm or cold, from our refreshment bar. Our massage chair is the perfect pre-treatment relaxation device, and the live reef aquarium is calming and tranquil. Our office was designed with your total comfort in mind.
Even the operations have been specifically tailored to your comfort, health, and safety. Everything we use for your care is either disposable, or sterilized in our dedicated sterilization area. Our digital x-rays provide superior diagnostic images that can be enlarged and color enhanced, while exposing you to up to 90% less radiation than traditional films. Gentle ultrasonic cleanings make your hygiene visits pleasant and enjoyable.
We utilize a variety of techniques and equipment to enhance your comfort: Air abrasion "no drill" dentistry, topical anesthetics and nitrous oxide are all available to you. Lasers enable sutureless oral surgery with little discomfort and no bleeding. We even have a state-of-the-art computerized anesthesia delivery system, so that the initial injection is no longer something to the concerned about. At the conclusion of your appointment, you are offered a warm towel to freshen up with, and a delightfully warm and soothing paraffin bath for your hands.
At Aesthetic Dental Care, everything we do is centered around accurate diagnosis. We meet with you individually to discuss your needs and desires, and to review both your medical and dental history. We then perform a thorough exam that includes an oral cancer screening, intraoral photographs and any x-rays necessary to adequately assess your dental health and jaw function. Dr. Strauss spends a significant amount of time after hours reviewing all this information about you. He then takes the time necessary to explain your treatment options and answer all of your questions. Because of his commitment to stay abreast of the latest advancements in dentistry, Dr. Strauss has trained in the area of neuromuscular dentistry. Neuromuscular dentistry involves determining how the jaw, alignment and occlusion of the teeth, and facial muscles interact. Misalignment, uneven wearing of the teeth, or an improper bite can cause a myriad of medical problems, including but not limited to headaches, neck and facial pain, and muscle cramps throughout the upper body. Utilizing electromagnetic and ultrasonic scanning devices, Dr. Strauss can determine the proper alignment of your teeth and jaw, and create the proper bite necessary to alleviate the pain and discomfort.
Many patients are afraid of dental treatment, and as such, may have avoided it for many years. As a result, some people are too embarrassed by the condition of their teeth to come to the dentist. At Aesthetic Dental Care, we understand that this is a very real fear, not something to be taken lightly. There is no reason to be ashamed or embarrassed in our office. We have had wonderful success treating seriously dental phobic patients, because we take special care to make even the most fearful patients comfortable, in the office and with their treatment. Our practice is a member office in DOCS - the Dental Organization for Conscious Sedation. This means that we are trained and certified to administer oral medication that enables you to be so completely relaxed during dental treatment that you will feel almost nothing, and later have no recollection of having been in our office. Dr. Jerry Strauss has been maintaining oral health and designing beautiful smiles for his patients for over 20 years. A general dentist with extensive training in restorative, sedation, neuromuscular and cosmetic dentistry, he combines dental expertise, a gentle chairside manner, and the latest technology and materials to make his patients' goals a reality.

That's why I make sure that you know all about the status of your dental health and the procedure I'm performing" says Dr. Strauss. | Dr. Strauss, a native of Middletown, New York earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Syracuse University. He graduated from Boston University's School of Graduate Dentistry with a combined Master's degree in nutritional biochemistry, the first in the school's history to do so. |
Upon graduation, Dr. Strauss received the prestigious Academy of General Dentistry Award from the Boston University faculty. He completed a general practice residency at SUNY Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse, New York, and remained on staff there for many years as a clinical instructor. Dr. Strauss began private practice dentistry in Binghamton, New York, where he remained until 1998.
Dr. Strauss has trained with some of the world's most prominent dental specialists. He is a graduate of the prestigious Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies, the world's premier post graduate dental program, and continues his post graduate dental education there on a regular basis. Additionally, he is involved in many programs put on by the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry and the Dental Organization for Conscious Sedation.
Dr. Strauss also insists that the entire staff pursues ongoing studies so that as a team, all are familiar with the latest techniques, equipment and materials available.
Dr. Strauss is proud to have acheived Mastership Status in the Academy of General Dentistry by completing over 1100 hours of continuing education. This is the highest honor of the Academy and is achieved by less than 1% of all dentists. He is also a member of the American Dental Association, Association of Laser Dentistry, New Jersey Dental Society, American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, the Dental Organization for Conscious Sedation, and Omicron Kappa Upsilon, the dental honor society.
Dr. Strauss has been married for 20 years, and is a devoted father to his son and two daughters.
